Change Your Negative Thinking: A Beginner’s Guide
About Course
Do you sometimes get stuck in thoughts like “I always mess things up” or “Something bad is going to happen”? You are not alone. Everyone has negative thoughts, and the good news is that the way you think is a skill you can practise and improve.
Change Your Negative Thinking is a practical, beginner-friendly course based on the ideas of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), first developed by Dr Aaron T. Beck and made popular by Dr David D. Burns. Step by step, you will learn how your thoughts, feelings and actions are connected, how to notice unhelpful thoughts as they happen, how to spot the most common “thinking traps”, and how to replace them with more balanced, realistic thoughts.
The course has 6 short modules with clear lessons, real-life examples, printable worksheets and simple exercises you can use straight away. You will finish with your own 30-day plan to keep your new habits going.
What you’ll learn
- How thoughts, feelings and behaviour influence each other (the CBT triangle)
- Why the brain leans towards the negative, and what you can do about it
